Therapeutic Approach
My work is rooted in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which focuses on understanding how early experiences, relationships and unconscious processes influence present-day thoughts, feelings and ways of relating. I believe that developing insight into these patterns can foster greater self-awareness, emotional freedom and capacity for change.
While psychodynamic thinking provides the foundation of my practice, I work flexibly and may integrate interventions from other therapeutic approaches, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), EFT (Emotion-Focused Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), where these are likely to be beneficial. This enables me to respond to your unique circumstances and needs.
While practical tools and techniques can be helpful, I believe therapy offers something more than symptom relief alone. It provides an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and make sense of your experiences.
I believe that symptoms are not simply problems to eliminate, but meaningful communications that deserve understanding. Rather than focusing solely on how to get rid of distress, therapy can help us explore what anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties or other emotional struggles may be expressing about your inner world.
I offer a warm, reflective and collaborative therapeutic relationship, creating a space in which difficulties can be explored safely and meaningfully.
Therapy can be short- or long-term, depending on your needs, goals and what feels most helpful for you.
